Built to be read by people and machines.

I'm Joshua De Vera, a Shopify virtual assistant and store specialist for founders and small ecommerce teams. Two years inside Shopify's technical merchant support. Theme work, product data, daily orders, page speed and search — including the newer job of getting your store cited by AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Why this is the design. If I'm going to sell you AI search visibility, my own page should be the proof. Semantic HTML, real JSON-LD, no images anywhere, and a page weight small enough to load on a bad connection.

Services, as a definition list

01 — Six lanes
01
Theme & store build
Full storefronts from an empty admin, or precise edits to the theme you already run. Written into the theme in Liquid, not bolted on with another app.
LiquidHorizon / DawnOS 2.0 sections
02
Catalog & product data
Bulk imports, variant clean-up and structured attributes for brand, format and origin, plus the collections and filters that sit on top of them.

03
Daily store operations
Orders, inventory levels, refunds and the customer inbox. The unglamorous daily work that keeps a store trustworthy.

04
Speed & Core Web Vitals
Find what's actually slowing the page down, then fix it in the theme. Images, render-blocking scripts, layout shift, and the apps quietly costing conversions.

05
SEO & AI search visibility
On-page SEO plus the newer job: being the store that AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity actually cite. Schema, clean structure, and copy written for humans first.

Automation & integrations
Shopify Flow for the repetitive work, payment gateways and checkout configured properly, third-party apps wired to talk to each other.

Taste Culinary Food● Live · full build · Horizon
Problem

No way to sell online

A Philippine café-ingredient distributor running entirely brick-and-mortar. High overhead, reach limited to walk-ins, no catalog structure to build on.

Approach

Built from an empty admin

  • Full Horizon build, custom Liquid templates
  • Brand pages: Catcher Gourmet, Toschi, Cafetto
  • Metafields for brand, format, origin
  • Gateways, tax and checkout configured
  • Shopify Flow alerts and notifications
Outcome

A storefront the owner runs

Selling online with a catalog structured to grow, bulk updates through Matrixify, alerts running unattended.

Adahlia Boutique● Ongoing · theme & audit
Problem

A design system drifting

UK modern-luxury womenswear with a growing catalogue. Every new section risked breaking brand rules, and deploys went straight to live.

Approach

One system, one pipeline

  • Theme development on a Git-connected deploy pipeline
  • One documented design system across every section
  • Rolling performance, structure and SEO audits
  • Flagged the direct-to-live risk, scoped staging
Outcome

Ships without slipping

New sections land inside the existing system, and every deploy traces back to a commit.

Inventory reconciliation tool● Shipped · custom build
Problem

Spreadsheets never matched

Supplier price and stock files arrived in a different shape to the catalog. Reconciling by eye was slow and produced quiet errors that surfaced as oversells.

Approach

Built it, didn't buy it

  • Plain JavaScript and HTML, runs in the browser
  • Compares supplier SKU and price against the live catalog
  • Mismatches surfaced for human approval, never auto-written
  • No monthly fee, no third party holding the data
Outcome

A task, not a day

A repeatable check the owner runs, with the risky write step kept under approval by design.

FAQ — and the FAQPage schema

03 — Same source, both audiences
+What does a Shopify virtual assistant do?
A Shopify VA handles the storefront work a founder does not have time for: theme edits, product and catalog data, daily order and inventory operations, page speed, and on-page search. I do this directly in the theme rather than by adding more apps, so the store stays fast and stays yours.
+How do engagements start?
Every engagement starts with a free thirty-minute consult, followed by a written audit ordered by revenue impact with a price against each item. You keep the audit whether or not you proceed, and you could hand it to any other developer.
+Where are you based, and do the hours work?
Olongapo City, Philippines, on GMT+8, with comfortable overlap into US, UK and Australian working hours. Replies land within one working day.
+Why does this page have no images?
Because it is the demonstration. Every visual here is CSS or inline SVG, the structured data in the head is real and valid, and the markup is semantic. If I am going to sell you search and AI visibility, my own page should hold up to the same inspection.

From April 2024 to April 2026 I worked inside Shopify as technical merchant support, front line for merchants worldwide. Themes, apps, payments, checkout, DNS, domains, gateway failures. When something broke, it landed in my queue.

That job taught me where stores actually break, and it's almost never where the owner thinks it is. The app everyone blames is usually innocent. The undocumented theme edit usually isn't. Now I do the fixing directly, freelance, for founders and small teams who need someone who can read Liquid and answer a customer email in the same afternoon.

Before Shopify: two years of high-volume data processing and a year coordinating patient care, which is where the catalog discipline comes from. Information Technology at Gordon College, Olongapo City, where I still work from.

Everything I ship gets documented, so you're never locked into me. That's deliberate.
