I run the Shopify half of your business so you can run the rest of it.

Shopify virtual assistant and store specialist for founders and small ecommerce teams. Two years inside Shopify's technical merchant support. Theme work, product data, daily orders, page speed and search, handled by one person who can read the code.

No pitch deck. You show me the store, I tell you what I would fix and what it costs. You keep the list either way.

One build, told properly

Taste Culinary Food, from an empty admin.

A distributor carrying imported café brand lines, running entirely brick-and-mortar. Scroll and the storefront on the left assembles itself in the order it actually got built.

Nothing online

A physical shop, walk-in customers only, and no catalog structure to build anything on.

Horizon theme, custom Liquid

Product, collection and landing templates written directly in the theme rather than assembled in a page builder.

Brand cluster pages

Catcher Gourmet, Toschi and Cafetto each get their own page rather than being three tags on a grid.

Metafields underneath

Brand, format, origin and use case as structured attributes, which is what makes filters and cluster pages possible at all.

Checkout and gateways

Payment gateways, tax and checkout configured end to end, then tested with real orders before launch.

Taking orders

Flow running quietly

Subscriber notifications and operational alerts firing without anyone sitting in the admin waiting for them.

Beat 01 · Problem

A physical shop with no way to sell online

High overhead, reach limited to walk-ins, and no catalog structure to build anything on. The owner wanted to transition brick-and-mortar operations onto a storefront they could actually run themselves.

Beat 02 · Approach

Built on Horizon, written in Liquid

Full build from an empty admin, with custom Liquid across product, collection and landing pages instead of a page builder that would have to be paid for and maintained forever.

Beat 03 · Approach

Brand cluster pages, one per line

Catcher Gourmet, Toschi and Cafetto each got a real page. Imported brand lines are how this buyer searches, so that is how the store is organised.

Beat 04 · Approach

Metafields doing the structural work

  • Brand, format, origin and use case as structured attributes
  • Collections and filters built on top of the data, not hand-maintained
  • Bulk updates through Matrixify rather than one product at a time
Beat 05 · Approach

Checkout configured end to end

Payment gateways, tax settings and the checkout flow, tested with real orders before anyone was asked to trust it with money.

Beat 06 · Outcome

A storefront the owner can actually run

Selling online with a catalog structured to grow, bulk updates through Matrixify, and Shopify Flow handling subscriber notifications and operational alerts without anyone watching the admin.

Six lanes. Take one, or hand over the whole store.

Everything is written into the theme rather than bolted on as another app, because every app you add is another thing that can slow the store down or break in an update.

Full storefronts from an empty admin, or precise edits to the theme you already run. Written directly in Liquid.

Catalog & product data

Bulk imports, variant clean-up and structured attributes, plus the collections and filters that sit on top of them.

Daily store operations

Orders, inventory, refunds and the customer inbox. The unglamorous daily work that keeps a store trustworthy.

Speed & Core Web Vitals

Find what is actually slowing the page down, then fix it in the theme rather than installing another app to compensate.

Problem

A design system drifting section by section

A growing catalogue and a storefront where every new section risked breaking the brand's typography and colour rules. Deploys went straight to live with no staging step.

Approach

One system, one pipeline, rolling audits

  • Ongoing theme development on a GitHub-connected deploy pipeline
  • A single documented design system held across every section
  • Rolling audits covering performance, structure and on-page SEO
  • Flagged the direct-to-live deploy risk and scoped a staging branch
Outcome

Changes ship without the brand slipping

New sections land inside the existing system rather than beside it, and every deploy traces back to a commit.

Problem

Supplier spreadsheets never matched the store

Stock counts and prices arrived as supplier spreadsheets in a different shape to the Shopify catalog. Reconciling them by eye was slow and produced quiet errors that surfaced as oversells.

Approach

Built a browser tool instead of buying an app

  • Plain JavaScript and HTML, runs in the browser, nothing to install
  • Compares supplier price and SKU data against the live catalog
  • Surfaces mismatches for a human to approve rather than auto-writing
  • No monthly app fee and no third party holding the data
Outcome

Reconciliation became a task, not a day

A repeatable check the owner runs themselves, with the risky write step kept under human approval by design.

Metric slotAdd hours saved per cycle, or mismatch count caught in the first run.

01Free consult

Thirty minutes, no slides

You show me the store and the thing that has been annoying you. I say honestly whether it is worth paying someone to fix.

02Written audit

Ordered by revenue impact

A list ordered by what will actually move revenue, with a price against each item. Yours to keep and hand to anyone.

03Build

Shipped as it lands

Work happens on a staging copy wherever possible. Progress ships as it lands, not a silent month then a surprise.

04Hand over or stay on

No lock-in either way

Documented and handed back, or I stay on monthly and keep running it. Your call, made at the end rather than the start.

About

Two years on the inside, spent learning where stores break.

From April 2024 to April 2026 I worked inside Shopify as technical merchant support, front line for merchants worldwide. Themes, apps, payments, checkout, DNS, domains, gateway failures. When something broke, it landed in my queue.

That job taught me where stores actually break, and it is almost never where the owner thinks it is. Now I do the fixing directly, freelance, for founders and small teams who need someone who can read Liquid and answer a customer email in the same afternoon.

Before Shopify: two years of high-volume data processing and a year coordinating patient care, which is where the catalog discipline comes from. Information Technology at Gordon College, Olongapo City, where I still work from.
